The staff at this hotel was very nice and helpful, from the bell hops to the desk clerks to the concierge. The location is very good — convenient to old San Juan. There are several family friendly restaurants and a Walgreens with groceries right nearby. The kids wading pool is huge and the regular pool, which has a slide and multiple stairway entrances (no ladders) is very kid friendly. A lot of families stay here, so you feel you’re in a a family friendly environment.

That said, your kids need to be happy amusing themselves with the pool and beach (and maybe a fusball table). The hotel is overdue to add a kids club or put more effort into the poolside activities so parents can get some R&R time; maybe add a group-baby sitting “date night” one night a week. The few poolside activities they had so utterly lacked any real effort that they’d be better off skipping them entirely.

Also, if I had a toddler the balcony railings would have made me crazy. They just look too potentially climbable and need to be updated.
